The corgis (and other dogs) of Team Low Rider helped raise $14,105 for the Escondido Humane Society through Paws in the Park, the fundraiser at Kit Carson Park held on Sunday.
I raised a couple hundred dollars from taking photos, but the rainmaker was Betty Jamieson-Dunne, whose efforts brought in $10,973.
Leader Geri Sterling kept the team motivated and handed out green Team Low Rider bandannas for all the pooches at the start of the walk. Willow didn’t quite make it the whole way — we reach the split between the long route and the short route and once she realized the short route led back toward the car she couldn’t trot along fast enough.
The corgis (and their pals) of Team Low Rider are hitting the road again for Paws in the Park, the annual fundraiser for the Escondido Humane Society.
This year I’m hoping to bring in a little more money for the team’s contribution by doing pet portraits for members of the San Diego Corgi Meetup (and their friends).
I’ll be at the Rancho Bernardo Community Park dog park from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, March 12 and again 9-11 a.m. Saturday, March 20. These won’t be fancy shots — I’m just taking quick portraits or action photos and delivering at least 1-4 full-size JPG files for donations of just $10 or more.
Here’s my gallery of team photos from last year’s walk.
Direct donations to the Humane Society via Firstgiving.com are also welcome.
I was headed to the waterfront to take scenic pictures and stumbled across a different kind of scene.
